Katingan is the largest rattan producer in Central Kalimantan, producing 800 tons per month – Indonesia

Based on data in March 2022, Central Kalimantan Province has long been known as one of the largest rattan producers in Indonesia, which so far is widely available in Katingan Regency.

Katingan Regency, Central Kalimantan, there are 10 sub-districts out of 13 sub-districts that are known as rattan-producing areas with good quality. every month, Katingan Regency can produce 600-800 tons of cultivated rattan.

Rattan has become a superior product in the district. The Katingan district government supports this activity with the establishment of a Vocational High School for cultivating to preserve rattan crafts.

Rattan cultivated in Katingan, garden type rattan (irit and sega), sabutan rattan, and marau or manau rattan.
